Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2018 Announcement

[Macau, For Immediate Release] The 2018 Michelin awards for Hong Kong and Macau have ensured that Macau’s Grand Lisboa Hotel is the world’s only dining destination boasting seven Michelin stars under one roof.

With the Chinese fine-dining restaurant The Eight and French restaurant Robuchon au Dôme, Grand Lisboa is also the only hotel to boast two three-Michelin-starred this year in Macau.

Holding the highest and most prestigious recognition of culinary achievement from Michelin, both venues are joined by the hotel’s modern steakhouse The Kitchen which was acknowledged with one Michelin star.

“We are profoundly honored and humbled to hold the position as the world’s only dining destination with seven Michelin stars under one roof. To have received these prestigious recognitions for our dining establishments is a remarkable achievement and testament to SJM’s, with its dedication to consistently providing the finest dining experiences both to visitors and local guests,” says Mr. Jonas Schuermann, Managing Director, Hospitality Services of SJM S.A..

Robuchon au Dôme has now been awarded three Michelin stars for a remarkable ten consecutive years, ever since the awards were first announced in Hong Kong and Macau in 2009. The restaurant boasts superb gastronomic cuisine crafted by the world’s most Michelin-starred chef Joël Robuchon, while the hotel also holds Asia’s most extensive wine collection with more than 16,800 labels.

Designed around the number eight, a symbol of good fortune in Chinese culture, The Eight is

celebrating its fifth consecutive year holding Michelin’s highest accolade. Well-known for its exquisite dim sum creations and modern take on classic Cantonese dishes, under Executive Chef Joseph Tse The Eight offers more than 150 different dishes to discerning global diners. The Eight also remains one of only Chinese restaurants in Macau to hold three stars.
